About Me

I am very passionate about finance in general and equities in particular. Equities has been an enduring love for me since 2000 when I started investing in the Indian equity markets. I have come to realize that the markets mimic life and have grown to appreciate its complexities.

I have tried my hand at various facets of investing - technical trading, Futures & Options, chasing momentum, Cloning (following big names and their investments) and have realized the way which works for me is to understand what I am buying and then to sit on it for years. I have seen others being successful in different styles and have understood that in the market one should always follow what works for them.

I figured that investment temperament is what differentiates the good investors from the bad ones and am always trying to hone my temperament. Charlie Munger, one of my favourite gurus, mental models has helped me immensely in shaping my thought processes.

I am indebted to other great investors and thinkers who have shared their wealth of knowledge over the years through their writings and speeches. Being an avid reader I have devoured literally thousands of books related to investing. My favourite areas of reading on this topic are biographies, histories, behavioral psychology, mental models, value investing, market manias and others. Love reading, hearing or watching Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, Howard Marks, Seth Klarman, Peter Lynch, Michael Mauboussin, Bharat Shah, Parag Parikh, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and Prashant Jain.

In addition to investment reading, I read a lot of detective and thriller novels. Absolute fan of Hercule Poirot (and Agatha Christie of course). Have read all her work. Same for Sir Conan Doyle, Alistair McLean, Sideny Sheldon, Ruth Rendell, John Le Carre...

Also, I do love to both watch and play tennis and watch movies :-) The lover started with Boris Becker and has since moved on to Agassi, Sampras, Federer, Djokovic and Nadal. Of the current ones still playing, still have heart pangs when Federer plays Djoko :-)
Al Pacino and Amitabh Bachchan are my most favourite actors.

I am also a history buff and love the documentaries of History Channel, Discovery, BBC and Nat Geo. I spend a fair deal of time of my leisure in reading books, annual reports, magazines.
